Connecticut Society for Women Environmental Professionals
2015 Grant Awards

SWEP-CT was so pleased with the variety and quality of the Grant proposals received in November 2015 that this made it especially difficult to choose the award recipients!!  We wish we could have funded all of them; however, that was not possible.  After several rounds of voting (including 2 tie-breaker votes), the following proposals were selected:

  • Norwich Public Schools will receive funding to assists with installing National Wildlife Foundation certified monarch butterfly gardens at each of their 6 schools and provide education and community outreach materials.
  • Manchester Community College Community Garden will receive funds to purchase solar panels to provide sustainable water to their garden area. The food harvested will donated to local food banks/soup kitchens.
  • Boulder Knoll Community Farm will receive funding to install drip irrigation and reduce water consumption for the farm, which is used for educational purposes and community fundraising events. To view the final grant report, click HERE
