2010 Grant Awards
The following organizations received environmental grant awards:
Winchester Land Trust was awarded $250 to host a reptiles program at their local library to attract and educate the public, especially young people, about habitat conservation and the land trust's commitment.
Mystic Community Bikes, Inc. , was awarded $700 for a bicycle festival for Mystic residents and visitors to celebrate bicycling as a safe, feasible and attractive transportation alternative which reduces energy consumption, traffic, noise and air pollution.
Pomperaug River Watershed Coalition, Inc. , was awarded $1000 to aid in the purchase of a core environmental education tool, "Envision Groundwater Flow Model", for promoting public awareness of water and watershed issues.
