Time: 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Location: Murtha Cullina, One Century Tower, 265 Church Street, 9th Floor, New Haven, CT

On behalf of SWEP, we cordially invite you to a special brown bag lunch presentation regarding USEPA's enforcement initiative relating to its Lead-Based Paint Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP Rule). USEPA Region 1 has stepped up enforcement with regard to the RRP Rule and has been conducting numerous inspections of home renovation contractors, painters, landlords and property management firms to make sure they are in compliance with the RRP Rule work practices. Between February and October of 2014, 55 settlements and six complaints were issued by USEPA, most notably the Lowe's Home Improvement settlement which included a $50,000 civil penalty as well as implementation of a corporate-wide RRP compliance program. USEPA selected New Haven as its target city to rollout its compliance assistance and enforcement initiative.
Brian Santos is an expert instructor with regard to the necessary certification for the RRP Rule. He will discuss the RRP Rule's requirements, who needs to be aware of them, and steps to comply. Cindy Karlson will highlight recent enforcement actions and initiatives. This is a brownbag you can't afford to miss!
Please RSVP to Sarah Kowalczyk at skowalczyk@murthalaw.com or 860-240-6068. Space is limited, so please respond as soon as possible.
