Hello SWEP members! We are pleased to invite you to join us at SWEP’s June Brown Bag Program with guest speaker Eric Brown, Associate Counsel at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). Fresh off the close of the Regular Legislative Session (which adjourns today), Mr. Brown will highlight newly enacted environmental laws and other developments of the Session, including Bill 1082. Mr. Brown is a key player at the negotiation table and will provide valuable insights regarding the hot issues, what laws passed, the effective dates and what the future may hold regarding the DEEP’s transformation undertaking. If you have any particular issue you would like to learn about from Mr. Brown, please e-mail such to any SWEP Board Member and we will forward them anonymously to Mr. Brown. Eric Brown is associate counsel at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA). His primary responsibilities involve developing policy positions on energy, environmental and land use issues for CBIA and advocating those positions before regulatory agencies and the state legislature. CBIA, Connecticut’s largest business organization, represents over 10,000 companies. The Association works to promote a healthy business climate, which encourages economic growth and job creation in the state. Brown also directs CBIA’s Environmental Policies Council – approximately 200 Connecticut companies that assist CBIA in developing and advocating public policy positions on environmental and energy issues and keeping members up-to-date with governmental activities in these areas. Before CBIA, Brown served as a senior environmental analyst with the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection. He also worked as an environmental specialist in private practice and worked at the state legislature as well. He holds a B.S. in geology from the University of Rhode Island, a M.S. in geophysics from Boston College and a J.D. from Western New England College School of Law.

At second light (State Capitol is on right) turn LEFT onto PEARL STREET

Continue on exit ramp under tunnel to circle
Just after entering circle bear RIGHT (around park – Bushnell Towers will be on your right)
